The palm-fibre weaving technique of Sichuan is mainly popular in Xinfan Town, Xindu District of Chengdu. It originated during the Jiaqing reign of the Qing Dynasty and has a history of more than 200 years. Presently, the palm-fibre weaving technique of Xinfan mainly concentrates in such villages as Gongyi, Jinshui, Qushui, Tonglian and Shiyun, and the handicrafts with unique folk artistic feature have great collection value.
There are three kinds of techniques: the first is pepper technique, the second is dense-weaving technique and the third isinversed "Y" shaped.
